Locum Legal Services Manager & Deputy Monitoring Officer – 3 Months plus – £400-£500 per day  – Midlands


Venn Group's specialist legal team are excited to be recruiting for a Locum Legal Services Manager & Deputy Monitoring Officer working for an In-House Public Sector Legal team in the Midlands. This team consists of 15 members and the successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day management and advisory of strategic projects within the department.


The team are looking for someone to carry out the role for an initial period of 3 months with the possibility of extension. Ideally, the organisation would like someone to take on this role on a full-time basis, however candidates with part-time availability possessing the relevant experience will also be considered.


This is a unique opportunity for an experienced to join a reputable Public Sector Organisation. The successful applicant will have prior experience in a similar role within the Public Sector and have the ability to deal with senior staff members with credibility.


Duties may include:


  • Advising the Local Authority in various day to day legal issues as the Principal Legal Advisor and member of the senior management team

  • Liaising with external Democratic Services function and carrying out the role of Monitoring Officer

  • Providing training on governance to colleagues and being responsible for governance audit

  • Managing the Legal Team and advising on high profile strategic projects as well as liaising with external auditors

  • Acting as the adviser to various committees


    A highly attractive rate of £400- £500 per day, dependent upon experience is offered.
