Job Title: Legal Counsel - Development

Salary: £80k - £115k

Douglas Scott are working with an award winning International Development business on a fantastic new opportunity to join their existing Legal team . The business continues to post excellent results and has an exciting portfolio of ongoing commercial / resi developments in the City and beyond. They are seeking a UK qualified Property Development or Construction (non cont.) Solicitor to join their International Legal team at an increasingly busy time.

The successful applicant will be responsible for a mixed workload, a sample of which is listed below:

• Leading on all Legal matters which are related to the activities of the business in the UK
• Drafting, negotiating and reviewing a broad range of documents related to development including Construction contracts, Land Acquisition, disposals, leases and commercial agreements
• To advise and work closely with all control functions such as Projects, Cost Control, Marketing, HR and Finance on legal issues arising from the Group's business and operations.
• Dealing and liaising with external parties including external lawyers, regulators, Governmental bodies, etc.
• Assisting with the review, updating and implementation of company policies to ensure compliance of new legislation and regulations.
• Manage and control external legal resources in terms of cost and performance, including negotiation and settlement of external lawyers' fees.

Applications are invited from Property Development or Construction Solicitors from 6PQE +. Previous experience of acting on Developments is essential, and a willingness to review documentation related to all aspects of the lie cycle is required. You must be flexible and adaptable as the team is required to act across all areas and provided simple tailored advice to the global business. Ideal for an all rounder who has a passion for development and wishes to make the move in-house.
