The Role

2+ PQE Contentious Construction Solicitor to join Legal 500 ranked team in Exeter Top 100 firm.

Working alongside the Partners, you will focus on contentious construction and infrastructure matters as part of a cohesive, nationally orientated team, focusing on construction and infrastructure related contract work across residential and commercial developments, renewable energy projects, urban regeneration schemes, financing arrangements, joint ventures, operation / maintenance / service contracts and facilities management.

The department works on a wide range of international, national and regional matters for private and public sector clients across multiple sectors, including housing, retail, transport, waste, energy and renewables.

Clients range from private individuals, owner developers, start-ups and SMEs to local authorities, national contractors, funding institutions and large multinationals.

Working hands-on and fostering client relationships, you will blend exceptional legal acumen with a commercially-driven mindset, advising clients directly on lower value claims and contract interpretation. Ideally, you will have gained experience in some of the most commonly used JCT and NEC forms of contract, as well as professional appointments from a contentious perspective.

Requirements

• 2+ years PQE experience within Construction
• Exposure to contentious matters within key sectors
• Willingness to take advantage of ongoing opportunities for progression
• Friendly demeanour, hunger to learn and communicate effectively.
