Private Client Solicitor

Well known for their depth of knowledge and quality of service the successful candidate will join a small team and work alongside a highly regarded lead. Advising a diverse client base that includes HNW and land owners the role will provide an opportunity to upskill and tackle more complex and challenging matters.

A motivated and positively charged Private Client Solicitor or CILEx is wanted for a fantastic York based opportunity with a leading, York based law firm. Applications are invited from ambitious Private Client Solicitors or CILEx with upwards of 4 PQE who are switched on to taking the next step in their careers, and driven to build out their know how alongside Partners who have been recognised for their expertise and high levels of service delivery. Salary is competitive and negotiable dependent on experience with excellent benefits.

The successful Private Client Solicitor will join a busy, friendly team, managing a challenging and rewarding caseload of matters on behalf of a quality client base that will include private individuals, land owners, entrepreneurs and HNW individuals. The day to day will vary and include client meetings, advising on, and the drafting of wills and trusts, the administration of probate, the drafting of LPA and EPA as well as the administration of trusts and some transfer of equity or sale only residential conveyancing work. Moving forward full training, development and support will be provided to enable Private Client Solicitors to acquire all the skills necessary to tackle more complex and challenging matters, acquiring the knowledge to advise on inheritance tax relief, wealth preservation advice including the protection of vulnerable beneficiaries to include Care Act 2014 advice. Natural people skills will be called upon to help drive growth, referrals and repeat business into the department.

The successful candidate will possess at least 4 years post qualification experience gained in a busy high street, regional or national legal environment. Strong academics will underpin excellent communication skills and demonstrable soft skills that will enable team play and the ability to contribute positively to the working environment.
