Head of Private Client , Hampshire

This is a superb opportunity to join a well known firm and take on the role of head of department.

Reporting into partners you will be a qualified solicitor or legal executive able to demonstrate a high level of service to your client base and be a great example for the rest of your team to follow.

In this role you will have responsibility for three fee earners and two support staff.

Duties include:

Monitoring ongoing training requirements of fee earners within department

Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of relevant areas of the Law and to attend appropriate training courses and maintain records of training.

Manage departmental billing to seek to meet targets for individuals and department as a whole

Complete monthly file audits for each fee earner

Review new enquiries and allocate accordingly/monitor workloads

To use correct office systems and procedures in order to manage cases effectively in accordance with the Firm's standards.

To collect outstanding disbursements as soon as feasible and to bill promptly and collect money due to the Firm promptly.

To maintain professional standards.

To check files regularly for removal of non-active files.

To accurately record all time spent on client matters in accordance with standing instructions.

To complete risk assessment for all new files.

To monitor risk on individual matters on an ongoing basis.

To assist with the marketing of the department and Firm as a whole

You will also have your own caseload to handle and will have an agreed target.

You will be tasked to maximise the profitability of the department and to implement agreed development plans.

Applications from relocators will be considered however you should be able to demonstrate a commitment to live and work in commutable distance from Andover where the role is based.
