JOB TITLE: Advocate lawyer - Motoring Criminal Defence (Private client)
PQE REQUIRED: 0+ years
LOCATION: England and Wales
SALARY: up to £1000 per hearing
A role has become available to join our advocates' panel. We are a specialist criminal defence motoring law practice with a niche in drink driving cases. All cases are privately funded. We do not operate legal aid.
You will attend Courts in England and Wales depending on your location to represent the firms’ clients.
Fees are on a cost per hearing basis with £1000 payable for trials upon the applicant demonstrating excellence. We operate a flexible non-exclusivity agreement that can be run alongside your usual work. You will automatically qualify for basic panel membership of £200 to £400 per hearing.
You must be a Solicitor or Barrister.
You will work self-employed under a panel agreement. The role will suit freelancers as duty solicitor or agency work for other firms can be carried out alongside panel membership.
We provide training on procedural defences in motoring law cases and strategies for dealing with prosecution case management failures.
Applicants will have the ability to deal robustly with judicial hostility to such legal arguments and believe in the right of the client to be acquitted where the rule of law so requires irrespective of guilt or otherwise.
National Motoring Lawyers are a firm of solicitors dealing exclusively in drink driving related cases. Our reviewing lawyers work alongside a panel of advocate lawyers supported by a team of caseworkers and admin staff. We cover all Courts in England and Wales.
