Childcare Locum (Outside IR35)

An excellent opportunity for a Childcare Locum to join a Local Authority legal team has arisen in the South West on an Outside IR35 basis.

Our client is offering a contract for an initial period of 3 months due to an increase in workload, however there is a strong possibility that this could be extended beyond the initial duration.

The role is offered on a fully remote working basis and although their preference is for full-time hours, they will consider offering 4 days per week with the option to work condensed hours so please do enquire if you require some flexibility with working hours.

Applications are welcome from Qualified Solicitors, Barristers or Legal Executives with a current Practice Certificate.

Previous experience handling a childcare caseload for a local authority would be preferred.

The duties on a day-to-day basis are as follows:

• Managing a full caseload of Public Childcare matters
• Dealing with interim care orders and emergency protection orders under the Public Law Outline
• Virtually attending both County Court and Family Proceedings Court including trial hearings, directions hearing and half day hearings
• Performing own advocacy on cases

The hourly rate on offer for this position is between £45-50 per hour on a limited company basis.
