Hours:

Full Time (Mon-Thurs 0900-1715, Fri 0900-1700) / Part time could be considered but no fewer than 4 days per week.

Location:

Headquarters are in Kettering UK, currently working from home due to COVID, would accept applications from across the UK if willing to travel on occasion.

Role Purpose:

Reporting to and working closely with the Head of Legal and working closely with the wider regional legal team based in Asia and the US, the incoming Legal Counsel will be joining a lively and ambitious international team advising on legal and compliance matters affecting the business and Panorama brand.  Panorama is the umbrella brand for our timeshare exchange, travel membership and travel club solutions business and includes RCI, Love Home Swap, 7Across, ARN and Panorama Travel Solutions.
The candidate will be required to develop a good understanding of the relevant laws and regulations and commercial risks facing the business and be an effective business partner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide commercially focused, solution oriented and accurate legal advice to all Panorama brands in line with each Panorama brand’s strategic and commercial aims as well as general industry trends.
  • Advising all business units on a broad variety of commercial work including commercial contracts, consumer law, corporate/M&A, outsourcings, commercial property, intellectual property, litigation, IT, data protection, regulatory and ethics compliance;
  • Drafting, maintaining and updating standard contracts and T&Cs, including website terms and business to business contracts.
  • Advising on marketing matters, competitions and sales promotions.
  • Training internal business teams on legal and compliance issues; and mitigating risks related to legal issues.
  • Assisting Head of Legal with government relations function; responding to government consultations, building relationships with relevant trade bodies, alerting business to upcoming regulatory updates.
  • Supporting Head of Legal on other general corporate activity, including JVs, re-organisations and internal governance (approvals).
  • Working on corporate and company secretarial aspects, including conducting group restructures, liquidations, companies house filings, etc., if required with external counsel where required
  • Support the management of ABTA membership compliance, if necessary

Who are we looking for?

Solicitor in English Law with 3-5 years' PQE preferably gained in either the corporate/commercial department of a reputable law firm or in-house legal team.
