Locum Commercial Contracts & Procurement Lawyer – East Midlands – 2 Months – Hybrid Flexible Working – Rate D.O.E.
Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently working with an established Local Authority in the East Midlands area who are recruiting for a Locum Commercial Contracts & Procurement Lawyer to join their department.
This assignment is offered on a full-time basis however candidates possessing relevant experience who can only offer part-time hours will also be considered.
The contract is for a period of 2 months and will be worked on a remote basis, however office presence will be required at least 1 day per week. This opportunity is suitable for an experienced Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within Local Government and have the ability to effectively manage a busy and varied caseload.
Daily duties will include:
Drafting and approving contracts arising from all the councils’ functions, from low value to multi-million pound contracts
Providing guidance on incomplete contracts and also contracts which have concluded
Advising on a range of local government law issues, including governance arrangements for shared services, data protection and freedom of information
Composing contract clauses and negotiating with third parties as required
Drafting agreements including grant and loan agreements and service level agreements
Efficient management of workloads adhering to given timescales and budgets
This hourly rate for this position will be offered depending on levels of experience.
