Legal Counsel – London

TSR Legal are currently partnering with a well-regarded award winning specialist insurance firm who are currently looking to recruit a General Counsel to the expanding Legal department. As a General Counsel you will be responsible for providing a high level of general legal and governance matters so that the board and the business are aware of their legal requirements and associate risks.

Within the role of General Counsel, you will be responsible for dealing with a variety of commercial contracts, trade mark and brand protection, minor dispute resolution matters as well as leading legal negotiations where appropriate. The role of General Counsel will operate as part of the company secretarial, legal and compliance function which supports the regulatory compliance needs, risk management and governance responsibilities.

As the General Counsel, you will be responsible for managing, negotiating, drafting a range of commercial contracts, dealing with minor disputes which arise, advising on major projects such as acquisitions as well working with the business in relation to legislative and regulatory compliance changes such as data protection awareness.

To be considered for this role, our client is requiring a qualified Solicitor or Barrister with at least 5 year’s experience of working in a similar role either in practice or in house.
