In-House Commercial Lawyer - Manchester

Our client is a progressive and vibrant company headquartered in the Manchester area.  It is a market leader in a niche technology sector and has enjoyed considerable success in recent years. With continued expansion including overseas operations, the company is poised for further growth. This is a strategic appointment at a senior management level and as well as being in-house counsel, the role will appeal to someone wishing be involved in business operations. 

The company partners and supports an eclectic mix of customers and third parties.  Contracting with global brands, household names, SMEs and niche contractors, this role provides  both diverse and rewarding commercial law instructions. 

Reporting to Board level, essentially you will be responsible for the non-contentious, commercial legal function including:

•    Drafting and Negotiation of contracts and documentation including Sales, Service, NDAs, Distribution and Reseller Agreements; 
•    Project management of the contacts process and supporting the Sales Team and Client Managers;  
•    Responsible for Data, Privacy and GDPR compliance; 
•    General legal support to Board and internal functions such as Sales and Finance; 
•    Liaising with external lawyers on large scale projects and transactions.

Applications are welcome from lawyers requiring flexibility and the option to work remotely.  That said the business is headquartered in Manchester, so a certain amount of time will be required there. Ideally, you will have experience of IT software contracts, but very happy to consider applications from general commercial lawyers interested in this sector.
