Deputy Head of Legal - FS Regulatory (hybrid/remote)

An outstanding senior in-house opportunity has arisen for an experienced financial services lawyer seeking a position with significant responsibility within an established team.

Based in West Yorkshire, the organisation is forward thinking and fast paced and is able to accommodate the appropriate individual on either a hybrid working or remote working basis.

If you have a background and experience in FS law to include high level regulatory matters and would relish a senior role working closely with the business in relation to the delivery of key projects and change, alongside supporting senior stakeholders and managing more junior lawyers, the organisation would be keen to hear from you.

The role needs an individual able to think creatively to find solutions to support the success of the business, and alongside this you will:

• plan and manage teams of legal support for large projects
• ensure the organisation is supported in day to day business activities
• help to oversee internal training and help enhance the legal resources available to stakeholders
• instruct, manage and interact with third parties such as external counsel and regulators and government bodies
• proactively evaluate processes and procedures, identifying risks and non-compliance and identify opportunities for improvement

You must be a UK qualified solicitor with extensive experience working in the regulated FS industry, be able to demonstrate a strong track record in FS regulation matters including CCA and have a background of relevant experience gained either in-house or at a high quality national or international law firm. Given the seniority of the role, you must possess sound judgement and the ability to analyse complex situations and information. It is essential to have good communication skills and benefit from previous supervisory and management experience.
