1x Team Leader – Commercial, Employment & Education (Permanent)
Starting salary is £48,847 rising to £50,843 on first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced lawyer to join our legal team at Nottingham City Council.

We are looking for an enthusiastic solicitor to lead our busy team dealing with commercial, employment and education matters who will ensure it functions in the most  cost-effective and efficient way. The team covers an extensive range of mainly contract/commercial issues but also provides advice and representation in relation to employment and education cases. You should have a sound working knowledge of commercial and procurement law as well as an understanding of company law as the Council owns a number of other companies. Detailed knowledge of employment and/or education law whilst desirable is not essential. In addition to managing the team, you will also advise clients (both internal and external) on complex legal matters and carry your own legal caseload. Given that the majority of work in the team is of a commercial nature you should have a relevant level of specialism in this area.
