In House Healthcare Solicitor - Team Leader

The Body

They are well-known for their specialist services for both the local community and Nationwide covering cancer, kidney, cardiac, back and women's treatments.

The Commercial arm of the body is responsible for generating profits, they currently have a turnover of over £1bn, that can go directly back into clinical services for patients. The aim is to diversify their income away from core funding streams to be able to push forward their ground-breaking clinical, educational and research capabilities.

The Role

The Legal Team Leader position is a management role as well as a subject matter expert role with the broader Trust.

The role will involve leading and managing the Trust's healthcare legal service, including development of robust, auditable frameworks.

The post holder will establish processes and procedures and will lead the management of the healthcare legal services relating to:

- Clinical Negligence;
- Employers Liability;
- Personal injury and coroner-related work; and
- Developing and implementing Trust-wide policies

You will provide a combination of expertise on this subject matter, as well as management skills to develop and maintain service delivery.

This includes providing healthcare legal advice to the Trust and its committees and to individuals or groups of staff.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Healthcare Lawyer 5+ PQE
• Experience of appearing in court and representing clients in contentious matters
• A knowledge of the NHS and interrelated systems
• Educated to Masters level or equivalent

Remuneration

- This is a band 8C role and pays between £63,750 and £73,600
