Law Grad Part time Claims Handler

A leading independent Insurance Broker has fantastic opportunity for a Law graduate who has focused on insurance or gained work experience within an insurance focused Law firm to join their established claims team on a part time basis working around 3 days a week with a flexible arrangement around working hours. This will fit in well around ongoing legal studies or legal work experience.

You will work closely with a more experienced Claims Handler to gain experience within a claims environment learning and gaining experience on the job. Your Manager will be a qualified Solicitor and will therefore be able to mentor and advise you on an ongoing basis.

You will be tasked with handling a caseload of mainly employers liability and public liability claims on behalf of commercial entities where you will manage the process of the claim throughout interacting regularly with claimants and Insurers to ensure the claims process runs smoothly throughout.

You will assist with all aspects of the administration of claims made under the insurance policies issued to the members of the insurance scheme on a day to day basis. This will include receiving notification of claims; forwarding claims to insurers; obtaining evidence from the insured parties and arranging meetings.

You will consider issues in relation to liability and quantum; providing views on settlement; monitoring service levels from insurers and panel solicitors and keeping the insureds up to date throughout.

It will be key to provide updates in a timely and positive manner, offering clear and accurate advice and assistance to the insureds via the telephone, email and written correspondence. This includes but is not limited to advising on policy cover and conditions, claims procedures, insurance requirements and risk management.

As a Legal graduate you must be enthusiastic and keen to learn and willing to take on a variety of responsibilities. You will be able to then use this experience in the future when proceeding with further studies or opportunities.

To be considered you will be a recent Law graduate that has ideally focused on insurance (personal injury/ EL/PL) and ideally will have gained some work experience within an insurance focused law firm.
