Experienced Personal Injury (Motor) Lawyer - Bristol


Your new role
Our client are seeking an experienced Personal Injury (Motor) lawyer to join their team in Bristol. Working closely with the Head of Personal Injury and as a critical part of the overall Leadership Team, you'll lead and supervise the RTA fixed fee regime and damage-only motor claims litigation. This includes small claims and fast track personal injury claims, together with non-personal injury claims within all tracks.

You will have line management responsibility for four motor claims teams and will be accountable and responsible for the costs performance of the motor teams, with responsibility for the P&L, recruitment costs and driving improvements/efficiencies. You will supervise the case handling of all team leaders and will have the necessary legal technical skills to respond to more complex referrals from the team. Excellent knowledge of the Claims Portal and the applicable rules, along with strong experience of both Part 7 and Part 8 processes will be essential to the role. You will deal with complaints and act as a referral point for resolving compliance queries and Code of Conduct issues. This will include the management of professional negligence claims.

What you'll need to succeed
People and performance management to assist the delivery of high performing teams is essential to the role, with the responsibility for the performance and management of HR issues within all four teams being a key priority, therefore previous management/supervisory skills are essential. You will also have strong technical experience in the field of FT motor claims with the ability to assess breach, causation and quantum l, as well as Motor Claims Portal, MIB, damage only claims (including subrogated claims), the CPR, pre-action protocols and the Medco Portal.
