Legal Partner - Charities/not-for-profit clients, Counterculture Partnership LLP

Deadline: 7 July

We are seeking people who are passionate about using their legal expertise to help individuals and organisations in the cultural, educational and creative sectors. The ideal candidate will have experience in a law specialism relevant to our clients, and a good general understanding of the kinds of legal issues that not for profit organisations are likely to face. That might mean you handle employment tribunal work for regional charities; deal with a property portfolio for a national social enterprise, or advise on disputes for public sector organisations.

What Counterculture LLP Can Offer:

  • Successful applicants will work closely with colleagues with an unrivalled range of skills and experiences from different professional backgrounds. Experienced Partners’ average full time equivalent annual income ranges from £75,000 to £150,000, depending on their billing and the overall profits of the partnership.
  • We have full time, part-time and flexi-time working options based in our Manchester and London offices, with home working as required.
  • We have a flexible management approach with modern IT systems and low overheads.

The successful candidate should be admitted as a practising solicitor or barrister in England and Wales, or equivalent. You will also have sound knowledge of relevant law and practice, and at least three years’ experience in the public and/or charitable sector, whether as an employee, advisor or volunteer – or equivalent commercial experience with transferable skills.

We operate an equality and diversity policy and are committed to inclusivity. We especially welcome applications from women, disabled and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates, as these groups are underrepresented throughout senior positions in the legal industry.

Send a CV and covering letter to legal@counterculturellp.com.
Please include a few lines on your personal aims and objectives of joining an organisation with a ‘counterculture’ focus.
