Contracts and Procurement Lawyer

Locum Contracts & Procurement Lawyer – 3 months initially

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently working with a busy Local Authority in London, who are known for their excellent team culture, who are recruiting for a Contracts and Procurement Lawyer to join their busy department.

This is a full-time assignment (35 hours), as the current team member is currently on long term sick leave the role will be for an initial 2 months however this is most likely to extend.

This role is to be worked on a hybrid remote and in-office basis, with one day required in the office per week.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Contracts Lawyer to become part of a successful Local Authority. The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer with several years of recent local government experience, dealing with commercial property and commercial contracts to include building contracts (JCT suite and NEC4) and who can hit the ground running.

The successful candidate will be handling the following:

• An existing caseload of mixed contracts
• JCT/NEC4 contracts
• Negotiating on key partnerships
• Designing high value complex procurement, TUPE, pension agreements
• Providing advice on EU procurement

The successful applicant will have a hard-working manner and enthusiastic attitude, as well as excellent technical skills.
