AA Thornton is a leading Intellectual Property (IP) law firm based in London. The firm has been established for over one hundred years and enjoys an enviable reputation within the IP profession both domestically and abroad.  As a result of the hugely successful start-up of an IP litigation service, facilitated by Geoff Hussey our lead litigation partner and followed by the appointment of an additional litigation partner / barrister Dan Byrne, we are seeking to grow the service further in line with our expansion plans and client demand. 

The appointment of an IP Litigation Associate to join our current team of two partners, a senior associate and paralegals, will mark a key point in the growth of this service, in supporting existing clients as well as supporting the development of new business.  This is a unique opportunity to play a role in building the service and to reap the benefits of working with and being supported by our talented team of attorneys and solicitors across the firm to create the very best solutions for our clients’.

Our ideal candidate will be a qualified and experienced IP Solicitor with 2 - 6 years PQE (although the person is more important than an exact amount of PQE and so is flexible), capable of pro-actively managing their own diverse case load across a range of patent, trade mark design right, and copyright litigation matters.  Comfort with handling non-contentious IP assignments and licences, IP audits, etc, is also desirable.  Suitable candidates will be excited by the opportunity of working with multi skilled teams of attorneys and solicitors to provide excellent service and high quality solutions for our clients.  We are looking for an exceptional candidate who can strike a balance between technical expertise and being comfortable working with a range of scientific topics, combined with an interest in developing business and a practical, legal and analytical approach to their work.
