Are you a talented lawyer from a criminal law background looking to take the next step in your career? Being a Prosecutor with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) means that you will be at the forefront of delivering justice for some of the most complex and challenging cases, from fraud and firearms to public order and corporate manslaughter – the CPS works on all kinds of cases. 

We are currently recruiting Prosecutors to join our dynamic workforce in our East of England, East Midland, London North, London South, and South East regions.

In your role you will be able to provide justice for victims and witnesses, you will have the chance to have a very real impact on society and the freedom to use your judgement. Your work will be both challenging and varied in nature involving high volumes of casework and advocacy work in serious and sensitive cases.

All new Senior Crown Prosecutors who join the CPS, regardless of experience, will undertake a 17 day Lawyer Induction Programme (LIP) which is both class room and court room based. The structured LIP encompasses 7 separate modules including Introduction to Prosecuting, Disclosure and Youth Advocacy how to prosecute digitally.

You will have opportunities to develop your career further as the CPS is committed to the professional growth of all of their staff from the outset and has created clear paths of progression to support exciting careers. You will have access to an Individual Learning Account enabling you to attend training courses, the chance to become a Legal Trainee Supervisor and the ability to shadow colleagues to gain different perspectives. You will be supported in your progression with access to various promotion opportunities.
