Job Title: Commercial Disputes Solicitor

 

Job description: A West Yorkshire law firm is seeking a newly qualified Commercial Disputes Solicitor (0-2 years PQE) to join their team on a full time permanent basis. This role would be ideal for an individual with some previous experience gained within a general litigation environment.

This firm requires candidates work from their offices. Candidates outside this PQE with the right experience or looking to change specialism into a different practice area will also be considered.

Duties:

  • To be commercially astute and build client relationships in an environment where an astute individual can thrive
  • Comfortably collaborate to achieve excellent results with your team - representing, advising and supporting clients over a broad range of Commercial Dispute disciplines.
  • To be responsible for your work and with other fee-earners in the team to support in the overall development and management of the Commercial Disputes team.
  • To promote the services of the Commercial Disputes team internally and externally, taking a proactive approach and start to develop a fee-paying client base.
  • To support business development and marketing activities.
  • To assist in the production of legal content.
  • To develop an external reputation of excellence in the Commercial Dispute sector.

Required skills:

  • The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate competent technical ability and experience across a range of commercial dispute/high value cases
  • Qualification as a Solicitor or Equivalent with up to 2 years’ PQE.      
  • Experience working in a busy and reputable Commercial Disputes team.                                                                                                          
  • Working knowledge of IT systems such as Word, Outlook, case management systems and digital dictation systems.
  • Ability to work on own initiative using their autonomy whilst also being a strong team player.
  • Previous experience in supporting, guiding and collaborating is essential.
  • Some insurance experience and understanding of policy issues is desirable.

Salary:  Depending on experience

Hours per Week: 37.5 flexible
