Aviation Finance - leading Asset Finance firm - 2-5 London

Our client is a major international law firm well known for providing a full range of market-leading legal services across their chosen sectors. The firm is particularly well-known for their finance work and highly rated for their Energy, Transport, and Real Estate sector practices.

The opportunity:

The firm's Aviation Finance team (part of the wider Asset Finance Group) acts for all parties involved in Aviation financing transactions: lessors, lessees, financiers, airlines, manufacturers, arrangers, borrowers, export credit agencies, trustees, and private individuals.

They advise on all aspects of domestic and cross-border financing including export credit backed financing, syndicated and bilateral debt, securitisations, advising on distressed asset finance transactions, tax planning and structuring, cross border leasing, off-balance sheet structures, Islamic financing, operating and finance leases (both tax and non-tax based), receivables financing, sale and purchase of leasing companies, and vendor leasing documentation (including lease/rental agreements and programme agreements).

They are also involved in commercial aspects of their clients' aviation businesses, including procurement contracts with airframe and engine manufacturers, maintenance or support arrangements, asset sale and purchase (including sale and leaseback); and sale and purchase of aircraft portfolios and lease transfers.

The firm is now looking to recruit an additional mid-level Aviation Finance Associate.

You:

To be considered for this position you will have

• Excellent academics;
• Training and ideally either 3-5 years' post-qualification experience in aviation finance work, preferably gained from a City or international law firm (foreign-qualified lawyers with relevant PQE would also be considered);
• Proven technical skills in non-contentious aviation financing and related transactions;
• A well-practiced understanding of the aviation sector;
• Strong legal, analytical and transaction management and execution skills; and
• A proactive and confident attitude with a high level of initiative.
