JOB TITLE: Local Authority Childcare Locum
PQE REQUIRED: 2+
LOCATION: West Midlands Region
SALARY: £35+ per hour

THE ROLE:
This exciting role within a Local Authority based in the Midlands is available on an ongoing locum basis for up to 3 months. The role will include child protection matters and include pre-proceedings, care proceedings, fostering and adoption matters. The ideal Local Authority Childcare Locum will have excellent knowledge of public law and matters concerning the protection of children. The caseload is not heavy, and at one time the solicitor will be dealing with around 11 cases at one time. You will also have the support from a dedicated Legal Assistant as well senior members of the department. This local authority operates with electronic bundles and files, and you will have access to a work laptop and phone whilst in post. This role is 100% remote and court proceedings and court attendance will take place virtually.

THE CANDIDATE:
The ideal Childcare Locum Solicitor must have at least 2 years’ experience of working within a similar setting e.g. Local Authority or Council. This role requires you to attend virtual court hearings so you must be able to do your own advocacy. The ideal candidate must be resilient, hardworking, and passionate about this area of law.
