Our client is a forward-thinking, international law firm who are seeking a senior Construction Solicitor with 5+ years' post-qualification experience to join their team in Birmingham.
The team work on a wide range of non-contentious and contentious construction law matters, with a focus on advisory and transactional matters for developers, contractors and sub-contractors, funders and occupiers, across both public and private sectors. They advise on complex and high-value construction projects, often within the mixed-use, commercial or residential development, retail, hotel, leisure, healthcare or education sector.
To be considered for this role you will need experience in drafting, negotiating and advising on standard form construction and engineering contracts including NEC, JCT, IChemE, ICE and FICIC based forms), as well as bespoke construction agreements including development agreements, ancillary documents and consultant appointments. You will also need experience in providing procurement advice to clients.
On the contentious side, the team work on construction dispute analysis, management, defence and prosecution for their clients and have been involved in a number of high-profile, complex cases. Although it is not essential for this role, it would be beneficial for you to have experience in construction litigation, arbitration, adjudication and mediation cases, as well as other forms of ADR.
This is a great opportunity for a senior solicitor who is keen to progress their career to pick up some market-leading work and develop a serious business case for partnership, fully supported by the firm and wider team. Due to the nature of the work and current team structure, you will need to have 5+ years' of post-qualification experience in non-contentious or mixed construction law, as well as experience in supervising and mentoring more junior members of the team.
