Due to growth and expansion, my client is looking to recruit a Commercial Property Fee-earner to join the team in their Sheffield office. This is an excellent opportunity to join a modern, creative and forward thinking law firm with exposure to an interesting mix of real estate files together with a few complex residential files. Working with an experienced team, the successful candidate will provide further support within this busy and well-established department.

The Person

Ideally you will have:
  • Keen attention to detail;
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and excellent organisational skills;
  • The ability to advise and handle a wide variety of commercial property enquiries together with some residential matters;
  • Previous experience as a Commercial Property Fee-earner, ideally with 3 years or more experience as a Fee-earner in this field of law;
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • The ability to work to targets and deadlines;
  • Excellent client care skills; and
  • Be proficient in using IT packages such as MS office and conveyancing portals.
Main responsibilities
  • Advising a range of clients on commercial property matters including buyers, sellers, landlords/tenants, investors and developers;
  • Managing a mixed caseload of commercial property files from start to finish including (but not limited to) freehold and leasehold sales and purchases of commercial premises, site acquisitions, disposals and development, retail, leisure, factory, office and residential, leases and renewals and rent reviews, portfolio management, property investment and property finance matters;
  • Drafting and negotiating all related legal paperwork including (but not limited to) contracts for sale, transfers, leases and agreements for lease, licences, guarantees and legal charges;
  • Advising where necessary on complex residential property matters including (but not limited to) new build matters and lease extensions;
  • Working to targets to ensure that all KPI and SLA's are followed and met;
  • Ensuring that the highest level of client care is achieved;
  • Working successfully with third party intermediaries at all times;
  • Utilising the firm's case management system; and
  • Actively assisting with business development opportunities on behalf of the firm
