Job Details

The University of Law (ULaw) is one of the world's largest law schools. With an impressive history dating back to 1876, we employ over 900 staff and have over 14,000 students studying on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, along with an alumni network in excess of 100,000. We were the first-ever independent institution to be granted degree awarding powers and in 2012 we gained university title. With a rich heritage and a reputation for innovation and contemporary teaching practices, we continuously focus on developing the best legal and business minds. In 2016, we opened our leading Business School, further enhancing our reputation as a full service legal, business and educational training specialist, operating from campuses throughout the UK, Berlin and Hong Kong and an Online campus.

What really sets us apart from other universities is the guiding principle that future lawyers and business leaders should learn in a realistic, professional and contemporary context, with plenty of practical interactive engagement. That's why we keep our contact hours high and our teaching groups small.

Due to significant student growth, we are looking to recruit law tutors; qualified solicitors or barristers who can demonstrate successful legal practice experience to work at our Leeds campus. We may also have opportunities available in our Newcastle and Sheffield satellite campuses from time to time. You will enjoy being challenged (by students and course content in equal measure) and be able to adapt to the different learning styles of students and methods of course delivery. You will be eager to share your expertise and become involved in all aspects of enhancing the student experience within our campuses, primarily teaching on our SQE, LPC, GDL, LLB & BPC programmes. Please note that classes are also routinely delivered over weekends and evenings and tutors are expected to work flexibly within these parameters.

We offer an excellent range of competitive benefits including a generous annual leave allowance, private medical scheme, contributory pension scheme, life assurance, training and qualifications, and travel loans. As part of the tutor development programme, we will also support you to study for a recognised teaching qualification within your first 18 months of employment.

Application Process
For more information on these opportunities and ULaw please contact our recruitment partner Hannah Connell by calling 07966 129 657 or emailing
*Please submit your CV as soon as possible, as interviews will be taking place at regular intervals throughout this recruitment campaign. Contact Hannah for more information*

Some posts within the University are subject to a DBS check - you will be notified of this during the application process.
