We are seeking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our professional and friendly Legal Services team.

The role of Senior Solicitor will provide the highest possible standards of advice and guidance through case work and projects aligned to corporate priorities. You will resolve complex requests in a timely manner and, by working with your team, manage cases, ensuring legal compliance. You will work in a professional manner and represent the Council appropriately. You will provide support and guidance to junior members of the team, acting as a regular point of referral and, through mentoring, help develop their understanding and skills. Alongside this, you will support the Legal Services Manager with providing leadership to the Legal Services Team.

This is an exciting role for an ambitious and experienced property lawyer. Local government experience is not essential. As landowner and developer, Eastleigh Borough Council is embarking on delivering a different approach to development, focusing on community, innovation and sustainability.

There may be a requirement to attend Full Council, Committee and any other meetings to advise on corporate, legal and probity issues and promote best practice. You will be key in ensuring excellent liaison between Legal Services and other services of the Council.

At Eastleigh, we are committed to supporting and developing all our staff and creating a culture that is inclusive, innovative and enjoyable. We offer excellent opportunities for continuous professional development and support our staff in maintaining a good work/life balance through our innovative flexi time system. We also have excellent package of benefits, including:
