Job Details

Human traffickers, firearms and drugs dealers, cybercriminals and exploiters of children - at the NCA, we work at the cutting-edge of law enforcement, tackling those posing the most serious threat to UK life.

Now, more than ever, serious and organised criminals are finding new and more ruthless ways to prey on vulnerable people and the wider public. And, as the crime landscape continues to evolve, so do we. Our teams work creatively and collaboratively to find new and unexpected ways to stay ahead. Join them and your work will have a serious impact as you help us protect millions of people across the UK.

Your role

As an NCA lawyer, you’ll advise on the most complex and challenging aspects of serious and organised crime. It’s a role at the very heart of the NCA, in which you’ll also contribute to the strategic direction of our organisation and shape our legislative landscape.

You’ll join our Commercial and Employment team, focusing on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious work. This ranges from public procurement advice to assisting with large commercial contracts and dealing with intellectual property.

Your background

You’ll be an exceptional solicitor or barrister with good post-qualification experience. Along with strong legal skills, you’ll have solid experience in commercial and contract law, ideally drafting commercial contracts. A good working knowledge of public procurement legislation is desirable.

Beyond legal experience, we’re looking for people who can see the bigger picture and drive innovation across the NCA while delivering outstanding work at pace. Being able to collaborate effectively with a wide range of people and external partners is essential.

Rewards

We take your career and development seriously and want to help you build a truly successful career with us and the wider Civil Service. So, we’ll make sure you receive the right training, guidance and coaching as well as regular performance and development reviews.

What’s more, as a Civil Service employee you’re also entitled to a large range of benefits, including generous annual leave, flexible working, a contributory pension, staff bonuses and recognition, volunteering days, childcare vouchers and other salary sacrifice options, and an employee discount scheme.

Company

Serious and organised crime is one of the gravest threats to the UK's national security. The National Crime Agency sits at the heart of the law enforcement response, protecting the public by disrupting and bringing to justice those serious and organised criminals who pose the highest risk to the UK.
