Have you got what it takes to do the role?

The main role of the Legal Cashier is to support the Lead Cashier in the provision of operational finance support to the wider business by efficient and accurate processing of financial transactions and providing advice and assistance as required.

If successful, you will need to be able to demonstrate high degree of knowledge within Legal Accounts:

Duties:

  • Undertake all duties associated with the completion of property transactions including

  • Check completion packs produced by the legal departments to ensure that all elements of the transaction are accounted for correctly with supporting documentation and authorisation where required.

  • Deal with queries from and highlight issues to Fee Earners

  • Monitor bank software to identify and process incoming funds

  • Process Electronic payments on banking software

  • Billing

  • Entry of the above transactions onto the accounting system

  • Bacs Payments

  • Inter Account Transfers Banking

  • Posting/Uploading Disbursements Cheque production

  • Processing Nominal Invoices including

  • Entry of Invoices on to the Purchase Ledger ensuring proper analysis and authorisation

  • Posting Direct Debits

  • Dealing with Supplier Queries and statements o Obtaining Copy Invoices where required

  • Making payment runs and one off payments as required

  • Bank Reconciliations

What experience do you need to have?

  • 2 to 5 years legal cashier experience dealing with domestic property conveyancing in a fast paced and team orientated environment

  • Team player with good communication skills

  • Knowledge of SRA accounts rules

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Experience of HMLR and similar on-line portals

  • Experience of Proclaim Accounts and Case Management software would be preferable but not essential

Candidates to be considered for this fantastic opportunity will need to hold at least 2 year's experience in a Legal Cashier capacity.
