Claims Handler job for leading law firm - Newport/Hybrid working


Your new firm
Our client is a leading law firm with offices located globally and working with over 2,500 colleagues. Acting for all of the UK's top-ten insurers, this commercial firm are currently looking for a Claims Handler to join their team based in Newport. Hybrid working is available however it is anticipated that you will be in the office 2-3 days a week. This is a great opportunity to develop your experience within a driven yet supportive environment.

Your new role
You will be responsible for handling your own caseload for clients who are a mix of leading names in the insurance industry as well as household name corporates, dealing with all aspects of defendant claims handling. You will interact with clients on a daily basis and support the marketing and business development activity within the team. Other responsibilities include:

  • Assume responsibility for quality control and benchmark compliance on your own caseload, including accuracy and timeliness of management reporting and information
  • Ensure strict and ongoing adherence to benchmark standards in all work undertaken
  • To hit, maintain and apply a consistent approach to all individual targets
  • Exercise full compliance with protocols on billing and credit control
  • There may be a requirement to work in house with the client
  • Handle confidential information in line with the firms' data security protocols


What you'll need to succeed
You may be a law graduate with experience working within a legal or insurance environment. Our client is also keen to hear from candidates with customer experience, such as working in retail, call centres or customer service. Strong IT and organisation skills, as well as the ability to work well in a team are essential to maintaining the firms' standards.
