Job Details

The University of Law (ULaw) is one of the world's largest law schools. With an impressive history dating back to 1876, we employ over 900 staff and have over 14,000 students studying on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, along with an alumni network in excess of 100,000. We were the first-ever independent institution to be granted degree awarding powers and in 2012 we gained university title. In 2016, we opened our leading Business School, further enhancing our reputation as a full service legal, business and educational training specialist, operating from fourteen campuses throughout the UK, Berlin and Hong Kong.

We are now looking to recruit an Assessments Officer within our Manchester Campus Operations.

You will be a key member of the Assessments team providing first class assessments support to our Liverpool and Chester satellite campuses

Based in the Manchester campus with occasional travel to Chester and Liverpool you will be responsible for maintaining a fully operational assessments system for all programmes offered at the satellite campuses, providing comprehensive assessments information to all students, and staff, assisting with the organisation of written and oral skills assessments and exams, processing concessions, co-ordinating the marking process, producing candidate feedback and maintaining accurate student records.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and client focused individual who is experienced in dealing with enquiries from clients, staff and visitors and able to provide them with an accurate and professional response.

The ideal applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills developed from experience of working in a customer focused environment and will have a pro-active and flexible approach to work and a willingness to help others. You will have exceptional attention to detail, be IT literate with advanced knowledge of Excel, together with good planning and organisational skills. Prior experience in an educational setting and/or an Assessments team would be an advantage but not essential.

Some posts within the University are subject to a DBS check - you will be notified of this during the application process.

As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. However, as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) individuals are currently under-represented within the University - which does not reflect our diverse student body - we would particularly welcome applications from BAME candidates. All appointments will be made on merit.
