Corporate & Commercial Lawyer A Corporate & Commercial Lawyer is required by a busy Corporate and Commercial team, based in Bristol, they are looking for an ambitious solicitor to help with a steady flow of high quality corporate and commercial work. A combination of office and home working will be required. The Firm This is a very well established law firm with a Corporate & Commercial offering the full range of corporate and commercial work and recent instructions include the sale of a market-leading healthcare business, the acquisition of a chain of high street retailers; and negotiating and drafting: agency, manufacturing and international distribution agreements for household name food companies; complex outsourcing and supply arrangements with public bodies such as the NHS and DWP for a major healthcare company; software licensing; and joint venture arrangements. The Role This role offers a broad mix of Corporate and Commercial law work and will appeal to a lawyer seeking a genuine breadth of work and the opportunity to develop a range of skills. They will be part of a friendly, close-knit and highly motivated group of people who believe in achieving client objectives and delivering a top quality service to our loyal clients. The firm are looking for an experienced corporate or commercial lawyer but consideration will be given to a newly qualified lawyer with relevant pre-qualification corporate or commercial experience, who is keen to develop their career, with clear progression opportunities. The successful candidate will assist the partners on large transactions and will also be responsible for their own case load of corporate and commercial work. The role offers a high level of responsibility and 'hands on' experience. Duties/Responsibilities: Teamwork on larger high value corporate transactions; Take responsibility for running smaller transactions; Provide legal advice and support to the business; Support client relationship management; Involvement in marketing initiatives and attendance at networking events; Assist in training members of staff and contributing to the department's 'know how' systems. The Candidate Key skills/competencies required: Qualified solicitor/FCILEx with over one year's relevant PQE or equivalent (consideration given to a newly qualified lawyer with relevant pre-qualification corporate or commercial experience); Strong technical knowledge of company, commercial and contract law; Strong legal knowledge and drafting skills; Strong people skills; Experience of negotiating and delivering corporate and commercial transactions; Ability to analyse complex legal problems and suggest effective solutions; Willingness to continually develop and take responsibility for increasingly complex work; Self sufficient whilst also having the necessary qualities to work as part of a team; The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and targets.
