Symonds Solicitors Ltd is a Devon based law practice located in the centre of the busy city of Plymouth. 

We have a vacancy for a Solicitor to join our leading and well-established Family Law firm.

The successful candidate will possess significant experience of handling a varied family law caseload with the confidence to work largely independently.

The role will be based in our office in the beautiful area of the Crescent on Plymouth Hoe.

Salary will be dependent upon experience and calibre of the candidate, but we are willing to consider any candidates with a minimum of two years’ post qualification experience.

Personal Specification:

- Be a qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 2 years experience.
- Relevant experience of management of a varied family law caseload including but not limited to divorce and separation, pre and post nuptial arrangements, cohabitation and - TOLATA, Children contact and residence, financial and property disputes and pension claims.
- Excellent communication and client care skills.
- Ability to deal sensitively and appropriately with confidential information.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and other business sources.
- Ability to work well under pressure within stipulated timescales and meet deadlines.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise effectively.
- Enjoy working in a team and ability to work using own initiative.
- Empathetic whilst dealing with sensitive issues.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Modern IT skills.
- Professional and positive work attitude with the ability to embrace change.
- Willingness to attend courses and webinars to increase knowledge and understanding.
- Ability to work towards and meet the firm’s core competencies.
- Commitment to the firm and the ability to provide a confident and positive input.
- Ability to take responsibility and ownership for the success of the firm and their own development.
- Ability and willingness to develop advocacy skills.
