Vulnerability Lawyer, Bournemouth – Salary £36,369 - £40,662 plus market supplement of £2,500 per annum (Weekend Working Payment also applicable)

Are you an enthusiastic lawyer who wants to make a real difference in keeping your community safe from harm?  Would you like the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, wide-ranging working environment? 

This is an exciting opportunity to provide dedicated support to police officers and partner agencies by promoting opportunities for safeguarding and protecting vulnerable members of the community.  We are looking to recruit a motivated lawyer to join our well regarded in-house team.  Whilst you will have a base in Bournemouth, you will be working alongside police officers and police staff throughout Dorset, providing and supervising legal advice and representation.  The specific focus of this role will be to improve the use of Domestic Violence Protection Orders across Dorset, by increasing the number of orders sought, providing training to raise awareness of their availability, ensuring the effectiveness of the Orders by working alongside the Victim Care Unit and responding to breaches.

You must demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of human rights and Domestic Violence Protection Orders and have handled contentious matters generally. 

You must be a qualified solicitor, barrister or Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives.   You must be able to demonstrate previous advocacy experience and of working in a demanding environment and be able to offer advice within time constraints.  The successful applicant will be required to undertake role specific training as indicated in the role profile.  The ability to travel is essential for this role.

Type of working arrangement: Hybrid Worker -  A Hybrid Worker is an employee whose role can be performed remotely from a variety of alternative locations including force premises, partner organsiation premises or a member of staffs home.
