Opportunity to deal with Education matters!

9 months initial contract

Fully remote working

Up to £45 per hour

We at Panoramic Associates are currently working with a Local Authority based in London who are looking for a Locum Adult Social Care Lawyer to join them for an initial 9 months contract, possibly extending beyond then!  The successful candidate will be able to work completely from home however, there is opportunity to attend the office in London if that is your preference.

The role will involve providing specialist legal advice to clients on a wide range of issues relating to Adult Social Care including Court of Protection, Mental Health and Ordinary Residence.  You will be responsible for progressing and managing matters on behalf of the Local Authority.   The team have an in-house advocate to assist with hearings however, there is still opportunity to conduct advocacy remotely!

This positions also sits within the team who additionally deal with education queries.  No prior experience of handling complex education matters is required, however if you are keen to gain experience dealing with Education matters, then this would be an excellent opportunity!

Essential criteria:

• A qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister, alternatively, non-qualified Lawyers with substantial relevant experience will also be considered.
• Good practical knowledge of The Care Act 2014, Mental Health Acts and the Mental Capacity Act 2005 including Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
• Recent experience of working in a local authority setting advising on Adult Social Care matters.
• Experience of working independently with minimum supervision
