Legal Manager (Extradition) – IJOCD

Are you looking to take the next step in your career? Being a Legal Manager with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) International Justice and Organised Crime Division (IJOCD) means that you will be at the forefront of delivering justice.

Extradition is responsible for litigating all “export” extradition requests (EU and non-EU extradition) made to England and Wales by other countries; and for making “import” extradition requests on behalf of CPS Areas to non-EU states. The Extradition team operates as a centre of expertise for all extradition casework enquiries; together with the International team leads the national CPS International Casework Lead network; provides internal advice through the Casework Hub and individual requests for assistance; and it assists with overseas engagement with stakeholders.

The Legal Managers in Extradition are responsible for authorising outgoing Red Notice requests for all CPS units. The postholder will lead a team of SCPs responsible for Part 1 Extraction Act 2003 export cases and conducting extradition proceedings in the Magistrates’ Courts in line with The Code for Crown Prosecutors. They will also deliver casework quality and outcomes as detailed in the Area Business Plan through focus on individual staff member’s performance and development.
