Job Details

Clinical Negligence Claims Assistant A Clinical Negligence Claims Assistant is required by a leading law firm in London to work on claims handling for clients. Previous insurance or claims handling experience required. The Firm A leading firm with over 500 staff located across strategically located office throughout the country. Recognised for their excellent employee welfare. The firm work with clients including NHS organisations and private healthcare providers and governmental departments. The Role The Assistant Claims Handler will work under supervision and support will be provided by the Claims Handlers based in London, although the successful applicant will be encouraged to use their own initiative. The main role and responsibilities will include:- Collating data in relation to claims; Co-ordinating and reviewing medical records before disclosure; Dealing with disclosure of medical records to Claimant's solicitors; Dealing with requests on limitation; Liaising with Trusts in order to obtain clinicians' comments and documentary evidence as required; Investigating each claim as reasonably required; Liaising with NHS Resolution Claims Managers and Panel Solicitors; Preparation of clinical claim reporting forms and responsibility for ensuring reporting standards are met; Responsibility for time frames and key dates within each portfolio of claims; Dealing efficiently with a high volume of claims; Providing necessary administrative assistance to Trusts and to Panel Firms; Assisting the claims handlers with any administrative support as required; Any other duties as reasonably requested. Candidate specification The Candidate They are are looking for applicants who can demonstrate that they have a genuine interest in healthcare and who wish to develop their career in this area. Candidates should be educated to degree/similar level. A legal qualification would be desirable but is not essential. Ideally candidates will have experience of: Previous experience handling claims and/or complaints in a proactive and client-focused manner within set service levels; Experience in the handling of claims within an insurance or medical organisation; Ability to build relationships and gaining confidence when handling claims; Ability to liaise with senior stakeholders both internally and externally; Strong administration and organisational skills; Excellent attention to detail; Ability to work calmly under pressure. Candidates will also be expected to demonstrate at interview that they are: Proactive; Self-motivated; Well organised; An excellent communicator; Analytical; Engaged; Take ownership; Feel comfortable with the level of responsibility; Take pride in their work; and Confident with IT/computer skills. Salary £25,000 to £32,000
