We’re a unique law firm looking to recruit unique childcare lawyers just like you!
In return, we offer a competitive salary, great flexible working benefits where you can truly balance working from home and working in the office, underpinned by modern technology to support you to work in an agile way.

Pathfinder Legal Services Ltd is an award-winning law firm owned by local authorities and delivering high quality and expert legal advice to the public sector and not for profit organisations.  Our unique set up sees us working for a number of different organisations providing specialist advice in a number of areas of law.
Due to expansion, we have some have exciting opportunities for lawyers to join our dedicated childcare team on a permanent basis.

Our Childcare Team
Our childcare team deals with challenging and high profile cases across the range of public and private childcare proceedings for our client local authorities. We work in partnership with our local authority clients to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children and young people in their area. Our large and friendly team means that we can draw on the experience and support of over 60 childcare legal professionals based across our three offices in Huntingdon, Northampton and Shefford (Bedfordshire) to meet our clients’ needs. We have a commitment to developing our team and a strong ethos of career development for our staff. We are proud to have been awarded the Law Firm of the Year Award by Cambridgeshire Law Society.
We are looking for practising lawyers with good subject knowledge, strong negotiating and advisory skills, attention to detail and a willingness to learn. A proactive approach and a real enthusiasm for this area of work are critical for the work that we do, as are advocacy skills (or a willingness to learn).
We are also looking for individuals to join our management team at both Principal Lawyer and Senior Lawyer with Management Responsibilities levels. Our Principal Lawyers lead the team, liaise with clients at a senior level to work together in a collaborative manner and advise on our more high profile and complex cases. Our Senior Lawyers with Management Responsibilities manage a smaller number of lawyers, assist the Principal Lawyers and undertake complex work.
Whilst it would be an advantage to have public sector/local authority experience, we also welcome applications from applicants with a passion for child protection work and a commitment to learning and development.
