Solicitor and Solicitor (Safeguarding)

Location: County Hall, Mold, Flintshire

Solicitor – 37 hours per week (Full time)

Solicitor (Safeguarding) – 29.6 hours per week

Grade G08 - SCP 36 to 39

Salary Range from £39,880 to £42,821 (pro rata for part time)

This is an exciting opportunity for two qualified solicitors, barristers, or members of CILEx, to join our busy and friendly team of legal professionals within the Governance portfolio.

The Solicitor will provide Education Advice, including in relation to the new Additional Learning Needs and Education Tribunal (Wales) Act, and will also advise on, and deal with tribunals and prosecutions on behalf of the Council.

The Solicitor (Safeguarding) will be responsible for providing advice and assistance in relation to adult safeguarding.  You will also work together with other members of the team in respect of child safeguarding cases where needed, and provide advice relating to freedom of information and data protection.

We are looking for positive and highly motivated lawyers who are confident, versatile and innovative, and who will be part of a professional legal team delivering legal advice and support to all aspects of the Council’s services.

We would welcome applications from qualified solicitors, barristers or fellows of the institute of legal executives.  Knowledge of local government law/legislative framework is desirable.
