We’re in search of an experienced Family Paralegal to join an expanding family law team and help maintain the standard of excellence for which the firm are known. The ideal candidate should have a working knowledge of current legislative and regulatory guidelines and also have good experience in Family Law.

Applicants for the role of Family Paralegal should have the ability to progress client matters efficiently and run their own caseloads with oversight from other fee earners.  The successful candidates will have current, or very recent, experience in Family Law, primarily in domestic abuse, divorce and private law children matters and the job role will include advising clients, preparing applications, representing at hearings and a commitment to self-developing skills and knowledge in this area.

Objectives of the Family Paralegal role

Provide high-quality support to firm's legal staff in administrative, regulatory, and legal matters, and assist other paralegals, legal secretaries, compliance personnel and attorneys when necessary to meet department needs

Prepare necessary legal documents and assist in the preparation of legal arguments.

Organize and maintain accurate, up-to-date legal databases.

Provide fee earners with case-specific assistance on a wide range of assignments.

Develop legal arguments through extensive research and close collaboration with fee-earners and other staff members, to thoroughly obtain all pertinent information and case materials.

Skills and Qualifications required to be a Family Paralegal

A relevant qualification would be preferred, not essential though.

Proven ability to maintain organized files and databases.

Excellent judgment and demonstrated discretion while handling confidential information.

Good IT skills, proven experience using legal database software.

Proven ability to work in a highly dynamic environment and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

Strong ability to work efficiently and effectively to tight deadlines.
