BANKING/FS 'NEWLAW'

NQ-8yrsPQE Lawyers required for Banking and Financial Services work in a Big Four brand, working anywhere in the UK as you can be engaged up to 90% digitally and be networked to colleagues.

You'd be joining a tech-led brand which acts for some of the largest financial institutions in the world addressing their legal needs internationally. The work will span a range of projects and will be interesting, but without the usual extreme hours associated with private practice.

Transactional banking experience will definitely be considered, but the team handles a wide range of financial services legal documents including structured finance, derivatives documentation and key fund documentation, so there's a strong element of more specialist London work.

Financial Services regulatory matters are also a core focus including IBOR Transition, MiFID II, EMIR and other regulatory requirements as applicable to banks, insurers, funds and asset managers.

For candidates coming from a regional background there'd be a period of adjustment and upskilling which this business is quite prepared for. City candidates and perhaps those who've been in-house with a bank or fund will probably find the work more familiar, though the focus is very much on leveraging technology for the benefit of the client.

Suitable candidates will need to want to be operating in a fast moving, innovative and technology enabled environment, and need a desire to be part of the movement to modernise the delivery of legal services. It's a differet way of thinking and a different way of working, but banking lawyers looking for something different are encouraged to apply.
