Permanent Senior Planning Lawyer – Up to £49,000 per year - Northern Home Counties – Hybrid Working

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are delighted to be recruiting for a Permanent Senior Planning Lawyer to join a respected Public Sector Organisation with bases in multiple regional offices on a full-time basis. It is expected that the position can be worked on a hybrid working basis with at least one day per week in one of their offices.

The appointed candidate will have thorough knowledge of Planning Law, Development and Highways Law including Section 106 Agreements. Ideally the client is looking for a candidate with professional experience gained within Local Government including their own advocacy including Judicial Reviews.

This opportunity is suitable for an experienced Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive.

Daily duties may include:

  • Providing legal advice and services to client organisations in planning, development and highways matters and other corporate or constitution and administrative matters

  • To contribute to the development, training or mentoring of colleagues where required

  • To act as a legal advisor to the client organisations in planning, large scale development and highways and other corporate or constitutional and administrative matters to ensure compliance with statutory duties and obligations and to protect the best interests of the client organisations

  • Act as a source of legal advice and support to any of the client Committees and Directorates as directed to cover the absence of colleagues.

  • To represent clients in negotiations and discussions with third parties in matters regarding the areas of legal practice relevant to the post.

  • To work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while meeting the team’s objectives
