£40-50 per hour (dependent upon experience)

We at Panoramic Associates are currently working with a Local Authority based in the Northern Home Counties who are looking for a Locum Childcare Lawyer to join them for an initial 3 months contract!

The successful candidate will be able to work on a hybrid basis with occasional office attendance require for court hearings. This position is offered on a part-time basis and would suit someone who loves advocacy but is looking for a more flexible position in Local Government!

The role will involve working within a sizeable childcare team and will include case management and conducting advocacy for a wide variety of childcare matters. You would conduct advocacy both remotely representing the authority including first hearings, case management and issue resolution hearings & on occasion in person.

Essential criteria:

• A qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister, alternatively, non-qualified Lawyers with substantial relevant experience will also be considered.
• Good practical knowledge of Children’s Social Care and Public Law proceedings.
• Ideally have recent experience of working in a local authority setting advising on Childcare matters.  Alternatively, if you have experience working in private practice dealing with Public Childcare matters and understand the responsibilities of the Local Authority when dealing with such cases.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
