Roles & Responsibilities

As the Head Legal Cashier & Compliance Officer for Financial Accounting (COFA) you will be integral part of our business operations. You will be fully competent in dealing with internal finance matters and be well acquainted with a thorough knowledge of the Solicitors Accounting Rules (SARs).

The duties included in the role:

  • Preparing and managing journals
  • Producing monthly consolidated bank reconciliation
  • Dealing with banking and cheque production
  • Client office transfers
  • Completing Bank Reconciliations
  • Paying and posting internal and external client payments
  • Ensuring unpaid disbursements are correctly posted
  • Reviewing office bank reconciliation’s and ensure bank accounts are funded adequately
  • General finance duties to assist with the month end processes
  • Producing Monthly, Quarterly and annual Reports
  • Liaising with the Financial Accountant for the preparation of Quarterly VAT returns, Year End Accounts and other Accounting activities.
  • Providing information on SRA Audit/Inspections

You will lead by example and be responsible for delivery of the internal finance services including accounts payables and receivables. A hands on approach is essential with a view to growing the team as the scale of the business continues to grow.

Job Specifics

This is a senior position and you will be working with the directors of the business to develop and progress the business plan. A host of skills including managerial, operational, strategy, IT and people skills are required to be considered for this position.

Qualifications and Requirements

A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Legal cashier with experience of liaising with external parties for audit purposes.
