Defendant RTA PI Lawyer

Defendant RTA PI Lawyer A Defendant and Counterclaims RTA PI Lawyer is required on a 12 month contract for a leading law firm. This role will be permanently based from home with the potential for one in person meeting in the Solihull / Birmingham area once every fortnight. The successful candidate will be provided with a company laptop but would be required to have the IT infrastructure/a reliable internet connection in order to work remotely on a permanent basis. The Role As a senior case handler in the Defendant and Counterclaims Group you will have the responsibility of effectively managing your own caseload of high-end fast track and multi-track defence and counterclaims files. Alongside this, you will support our Large Loss and Counterclaims Partner with their caseload when required. Using an in-house case management system you will use your technical legal knowledge to handle files from initial instruction through to completion. As a senior member of the team, you will be called upon from time to time to provide advice, guidance and supervision support to more junior members of the team, although you will not initially have any direct reports. You will also be given the opportunity to have direct involvement with insurer clients at a strategic level. The Candidate Essential At least 6 years' direct experience of managing your own defendant litigated RTA PI caseload of fast and multi-track files from defence through to trial Experience of supporting more junior members of the team with liability, quantum and procedural queries Good working knowledge of Part 20 procedure Excellent working knowledge of credit hire Experience of using a case management system Desirable Experience of supervision and or management Experience of working directly with insurer clients to provide strategic feedback and guidance Good working knowledge of claims initiated in the MOJ portal To £50,000
