Personal Injury role - Asbestos work - Open PQE level - Flexible/Remote working
The team you will be joining.
The Work Place Injury team deals with occupational disease claims, mostly asbestos related disease claims (mainly mesothelioma). The team handles a high proportion of litigated cases, many of which are dealt with on an expedited basis in the High Court. This team does not just deal with compensation claims, they work closely with their clients and their families to ensure all needs are met. It’s a unique, bespoke approach that really makes a difference to people whose lives have been turned upside down by an occupational illness.
You’ll have the opportunity to get involved in a diverse and interesting caseload, you will play a key part in securing justice for clients and making a real difference in their lives. You’ll have the confidence to hit the ground-running and have the ability to work independently on litigated cases. Given the nature of the work you’ll work with vulnerable clients, and your role will be highly rewarding, but you’ll have to be resilient and calm whilst also putting your client’s needs first at all times.
Day to day you will be taking instructions from clients and giving legal advise, obtaining evidence and pursuing litigation. You be managing your own case-load whilst assisting the partner of high value, Asbestos claims. The ability to develop relationships with medical professionals, nurse’s and victim support groups is essential.
To progress to interview stage:
- Personal Injury experience within multi-track litigation, (ideally in asbestos claims but not essential)
- Strong appetite for business development.
- Experience working on your own cases
- An ability to work with empathy and integrity.
