Social Care Lawyer

Your new company
A non-ministerial department who are responsible for inspecting a range of educational institutions. They currently have a need for a Social Care Lawyer to join their legal team for a minimum of 3 months.

Your new role
As the Social Care Lawyer, you will provide timely, accurate and high quality legal advice and support on issues and risks affecting the organisation, in particular in relation to the inspection and regulation of children's social care services and public law issues. You will support on drafting legislation/legislative changes and advising how best to implement such changes as well as collaborating in relation to enforcement activity undertaken by the organisation to effectively inform legal advice on policy development and vice versa. Finally, you will liaise with Government Departments and external stakeholders on legal issues affecting the organisation.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for the role, you will be a solicitor or barrister with a minimum of three years post qualification experience and ideally have significant knowledge and experience children's social care law and public law matters. You will have the ability to think strategically, to identify litigation, legal risks and underlying causes in their wider context and identify solutions including provision for value for money. Finally you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey the legal issue in a clear and simple method.

What you'll get in return
In return you will receive a competitive hourly or daily rate. The organisation are currently offering a hybrid working week, with a mixture of home and office working. Initially a 3 month contract, this role is likely to be extended.
