University & College Union have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Legal Services to join the team.
Location: London
Salary: £72,480 - £76,560 including London Allowance
(Starting salary will be dependent on experience)
Head of Legal Services – The Role:
Based (normally) at our London Head Office, your main duties will be to deliver the full range of legal services, including oversight and management of members’ casework, acting as legal adviser on corporate and industrial matters and developing and delivering UCU’s data protection strategy and policy. You will identify and lead on strategic casework. There is a small team to manage.
Head of Legal Services – You:
- A qualified solicitor or barrister, with 7 years’ experience in contentious and non-contentious employment law (including discrimination, disciplinary and grievance matters, industrial relations and litigation)
- Significant experience of working in a politicised environment in a Trade Union context
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to lead and develop individuals
