A genuinely interesting, part time corporate PSL role with a dynamic firm.


Our client, a market leader in international, corporate work, are looking for a part time Professional Support Lawyer to join their corporate team.


The person who takes this role will engage in the following:
1. creating, maintaining and updating precedents (we have a comprehensive suite so maintenance is the priority);
2. creating and updating practice notes covering key issues of law and practice;
3. keeping the team up to date with key legal developments and changes;
4. identifying the know-how requirements and training needs of the team;
5. developing corporate technical training for trainees associates and partners (and
potentially clients) where required. This will include identifying and liaising with
appropriate external training providers where appropriate;
6. working with and supporting the firm's Learning & Development team on the
design of other appropriate skills training for our Corporate lawyers;
7. mentoring and supporting junior members of the team;
8. dealing with ad hoc questions (usually technical) from all members of the team,
and (from time to time) other parts of the firm;
9. writing content for internal and external bulletins and publications;
10. assisting with developments and improvements to the existing knowledge
management system within the Corporate team and, where appropriate, working
with the firm's IT team to deliver this;
11. evaluating existing know-how and current awareness sources and assessing their
effectiveness; and
12. building strong relationships with stakeholders throughout the business, including
lawyers in other practice groups, the firm's innovation committee and other
internationally based PSLs to understand and promote connections across the
international platform.

Skills required
You will have the following skills/experience:
(a) a minimum of 6 years corporate law practice at a top City firm
(b) excellent knowledge of UK corporate law and M&A (public and private)
and equity capital markets transactions;
(c) excellent drafting and legal research skills;
(d) be used to a high degree of responsibility;
(e) be able to work effectively independently, but also be a good team worker; and
(f) have strong interpersonal and communication skills (including strong
presentation skills).
