Slater and Gordon’s trainee programme will allow you to focus on becoming an integral part of the business, and we will give you support and responsibility, to shape and develop yourself, into becoming an excellent solicitor, capable of running your own caseload. This is a 2-year fixed term training contract.

We believe becoming an outstanding solicitor is about continuous development – so, we will make sure you are challenged, and rewarded in equal measure!

During your two-year training contract, you will complete four seats (6 months each), in a range of practice areas from the following: Essential Legal Services, Specialist Personal Injury, Court of Protection, Wills Tax Trusts & Probate, Family or Employment.

We very much encourage trainees to experience a variety of departments to broaden their knowledge and experience.

During your Slater and Gordon training contract, you’ll work with a team of advocates that have been recognised for their immense contribution to the field: we’ve been ranked by independent legal guides Legal 500 and Chambers for years in a row. You’ll help secure compensation and, more importantly, provide closure and optimism for the future for people who need it the most. You’ll help give clarity to those who have experienced extreme hardship and offer a lifeline of support for clients, their loved ones and families in distressful situations.

You will also be assigned a “buddy” to answer all your questions - they will be a Newly Qualified Solicitor (NQ) who will have been in your position not long ago.

Each year, we look for the very best Trainee Solicitors to join us and become part of the exciting future of the business. We need individuals who are highly motivated to learn and have a positive, can-do approach. We want candidates who can demonstrate an ability to organise themselves and others, and can combine technical ability with a common sense approach to their work.

• Completion of the LPC by 31 August 2022

• Excellent interpersonal, communication and team working skills
• Ability to organise yourself and others

Selection process:

• 4th January – 28th February 2022: Submit your online application. Include:

• 28th February – 31st March 2022: Application screening
• W/c 11th and 18th April 2022: Assessments
